The FM45-L is the lightweight version of the FM45 line. 4×5 large format. Aluminum + carbon fiber composite body. 2.0 kg. Shares the same core drive and back system as the FM45-P.

Why a lightweight version

For photographers who carry a 4×5 camera on location, body weight directly affects the load of the complete system.

The FM45-L uses Japanese Toray carbon fiber for the front and rear standard supports and selected auxiliary structural parts, resulting in a 2.0 kg body. It shares the core drive and back system with the FM45-P; the two configurations differ in structural materials and front-standard mechanisms to suit different use cases.

Structure & system

Aluminum + carbon fiber composite structure — 6061-T6 aluminum core frame, with Japanese Toray carbon fiber front and rear standard supports and auxiliary structural parts.

Lens-board lock — carbon-fiber sliding latch for Linhof-format lens boards.

Built-in Graflok back — compatible with Graflok 4×5 roll-film backs and film holders.

Self-lubricating focus drive — precision gears and PA12 SLS engineering-polymer moving parts. No routine oiling required.

Integrated Fresnel ground glass — supplied as standard with a grid.

Lifetime paid service — parts kept in stock.
