Why a bag bellows is needed

With ultra-wide lenses, the camera operates at extremely short flange distances and a standard bellows is compressed near its limit, with its pleated folds bunched tightly around the front standard. Moving the front for rise/fall or shift drives those folds into the image path, vignetting the frame — for architectural facades and interior corrections that depend on movements, this means the required shift simply isn't usable.

The bag bellows is a single-layer construction with no pleated folds. Even at infinity focus, the front standard retains the camera's full designed movement range.

Structure & system

Genuine leather — single-layer construction with no pleated folds. Front standard movements stay clear of the image path even at short flange distances.

Buckle interface — shared across FM45-L and FM45-P, and with the standard bellows. Swapped on location without tools.

No mechanical interference at infinity focus — the bellows does not contact the lens board or rear standard.
